Actual natural, accountable soap.
No fragrance oil. No artificial dye.
Herbane was created to provide an accountable alternative to products we use in our daily routine. Our soaps are made with a single coconut oil base, essential oils and fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We do not use fragrance oils or artificial dyes, and we never will. Bamboo toothbrushes and soap dishes take the place of the usual plastic, and our loofas are made from plant fibers. From bars featuring craft beer, coffees, and teas, to bars with rose quartz hidden inside, we see soap as a flexible and universal medium. Living a natural lifestyle can seem daunting at first, but one change leads to another, and before you know it, you're feeling better than ever!
Herbane is co-owned by Matthew David Curtis and Erica Harding. (Keep scrolling to see how adorable we are.)
Matthew and I have been good friends for six or more years, then neighbors, then business partners, and now we're engaged!
Update: we're married.
(None of that was intentional... Except for the marriage.)
Matthew was given some soap making supplies that sat in a box in the closet for a year. He happens to be brilliant with numbers, so after a few batches, we had a recipe we were confident in. The blends come from hours of research, or sniffing around for a few minutes. The brand developed while I was working in an office. After a lot of conflicting feelings, Matthew helped me realize this is something good we can do and here we are! I strongly believe that leading a naturally conscious lifestyle can make a huge difference in your mental and physical health.
That being said, craft beer and tacos are also close to my heart.
